Joyrides Art Company showcases the photographic and design work of Mark Kawakami. Specializing in the hot rod, choppers and tattoo lifestyle and culture. Our goal is to find those people who love to ride, drive and create art as a way of life. We aim to bring that love to you through photographs and design.

Mark Kawakami-Photographer/Designer: I have been into art for as long as I can remember. From when I first picked up a brush and painted with water in the walkways of preschool to growing up with comic books and drawing my favorite super heros. As I grew older I knew art is where it was going to be for me. After graduating high school I enrolled at Otis Art Institute of Parsons Schoolof Design in L.A. and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design. I have worked at design firms in my early years creating everything from logos to movie posters. From my time working at Mike Salisbury Communictions I got my first taste working in the action sports industry as I created ads for Gotcha Sportwear and the then newly created More Core Division. I went on to freelance for Quiksilver, Oneill, Ocean Pacific and eventually landing a full time position with Body Glove International. It was by working at Body Glove is where I got into photography and have since started Joyrides Art Company so I can shoot the things I love.

Liz Kawakami-Business Director/Right Hand Wife: I run the show with everything to do with the business of Joyrides Art Company so that Mark can let his creative energy flow and do what he does best..create. I am the analytical, business minded one who supports Joyrides with marketing, online store and the Joyrides Showcases among other things. I love Joyrides Art Company because it is an endeavor that allows Mark and I to work as a team and to meet other people who have the same passion and drive as we do. It is not always an easy task because I do have a full time job, am a wife and a mom but I wear all hats and I wear them well.
